Techno Spark 5

The Techno Spark 5 is the latest addition to the Sparks series, comprising some changes compared to its predecessors Spark 3 and 4. The smartphone is a low-budget phone; therefore, we’re limiting judgments. However, the manufacturers have promised some interesting improvements, so let’s take a look.

Attractive Design:

Techno Spark 5 has a gorgeous gradient exterior, making it an eye-catching phone no matter where you are. The advertised seabed blue color is a particularly stylish example, the different shades visible when you move the phone. You won’t believe that the exterior is plastic when you see it!

Additionally, this two-toned finish brings it up to the level of high-end phones on the market—so if you’re on the lookout for something premium-looking, this may be it. The back of the phone also features a quad-camera on the side, the rectangular arrangement of lenses and a fingerprint scanner similar to that in most new smartphones. At the bottom, you’ll find a speaker/headphone jack and a micro USB port for the charger.

Moving on, the right side features power and volume controls, while the left is etched with a dual SIM and a microSD slot. And finally, on the front, you have a sleek 6.6” dot notch display, perfect for all your news feed scrolling and video streaming needs. However, the phone may require a bit more focus in the sunlight.
In a nutshell, the Spark 5’s gleaming design and aerodynamic feel to it make it a phone that is worth the attention. Other than the widely advertised blue (Vacation Blue), the phone comes in three other beautiful colors, namely Ice Jadeite, Spark Orange, and Misty Grey.

Software & Performance:

With its Spark 5 release, Tecno has kept the ram and processor quality pretty much the same as Spark 3 & 4. So while you may get a good-enough performance with Spark 5, it’s a tad low on the bar of configuration when it comes to today’s smartphone. For Techno users looking to upgrade their phones, sticking to the same company, the phone offers some new features, but the overall performance won’t feel much different. You can use apps that do not require a whole lot of RAM capabilities, but heavier programs such as games (the performance-heavy PUBG comes to mind) may be a bit laggy.

On the storage side, Techno Spark 5 is adequate. The 32GB of internal storage is plenty for an average smartphone user. However, for serious gaming enthusiasts or multitaskers, the phone may present some issues. All in all, the phone’s performance is okay, which for a budget device, is what you get for the value. It’s a good phone for your everyday calling, texting, and social media content consumption needs, but we wouldn’t recommend you use it for long-duration gaming or Netflix streaming.

Upgraded Camera:

Tecno Spark 5 features a camera with AI 3.0 image processing module. What this means is that the camera automatically improves picture quality for you, most notably the exposure balance for both day and nighttime photography. According to the manufacturers, the camera intelligence aspect can also improve image sharpness by nearly 15%. Additionally, the camera’s AI partner does a great job of adding brightness in low-light situations, making your photos clearer. Techno spark 5

Color-wise, Spark 5’s camera captures details well. The images taken either from the front or back are vibrant and have a bokeh effect. However, the AI does not over-process the colors, unlike some auto-features that make an image artificial-looking. Spark 5’s AI is well-rounded in terms of color reproduction.
The only drawback apparent in the phone’s camera is the Macro lens. Although the shots turn out well overall, the details are lacking – not the downside you want in a macro shot.

Other Features:

Battery

Techno Spark 5’s battery is quite good, better than what you’ll find in most budget phones. The battery takes a bit of time (between 2-3 hours long) to charge from 0 to 100, but this will last you for up to 48 hours on an average day’s use. In conclusion, the battery capacity has received a definite upgrade, while the charging time leaves more to be desired.

A Considerate Phone

There are certain features (optional) that add a somewhat human factor to Spark 5. Some examples include:

If you have a gaming addiction, the Tecno Spark 5 can help keep you from “over-gaming.” Go to the settings menu and find Game Anti-Addiction in the game mode to limit the number of hours you can play a game. The smartphone’s parental control options are commendable. This mode lets parents block/limit gaming apps, as well as enable a parent to set PIN/password on certain games to lock them for a specific time duration.

For fitness enthusiasts, such as routine joggers and bikers, the phone has a Bike Mode that rejects incoming calls, sending an automated message instead. The mode turns off automatically after 2 hours of enabling (can be re-enabled back in the Bike Mode).

Micro Intelligence

Techo Spark 5 has introduced an accessibility feature called “micro intelligence” that enables users to make certain customizations to the phone function for ease. These customizations include:

  • Gesture call control: Use gestures to accept or decline an incoming call.
  • Cover to silence: Another great call control feature is that you can cover the phone’s screen with your hand to mute incoming calls.
  • Flip to silence: Additionally, you can flip the phone front-down to mute incoming calls.

The Tecno Spark 5 makes for a good entry-level phone. The design deserves 5 stars for luster. The battery capacity is a definite upgrade from its predecessors’ (although the charging speed could use an improvement). The display is almost tablet-like at 6.6 inches, making it a good phone for your video streaming needs. However, the large display comes with a weight close to 200gms, which means you really don’t want to lose attention watching a video and drop it on your foot!

The phone’s OS-related features also deserve a nod of approval. It is an accessible phone for everyone, from students to 9-5 office-goers to parents whose kids take a deep interest in their phones for gaming. It’s your everyday low-budget phone. Moreover, Techno Spark 5’s camera is stellar for both photos and videos. Where the device lacks heavy application use, it fulfills one need for high-quality, colorful, and clear pictures for social media feeds.

Whether or not you should purchase Spark 5 depends on what you use your phone for, as well as your budget. Make sure to analyze all its features before you
